James H. Piqune, 85, of Huntington, passed away on Friday April 19, 2024, at Markle Health and Rehab.  

James had attended church at Solid Rock. He was a jack of all trades and a general repair person.  He could fix anything and loved to help people. One of James’ favorite hobbies were his model trains.

James was born on June 11, 1938, in Huntertown. A son of the late Louie and Irene (Groscop) Piqune.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life Ida Borne on June 21, 1959 in Craigville. She preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 2024

Survivors include two sons, Greg (Tracy) Piqune of Marion, and Mark (Ginger) Piqune of Huntington; a brother, Jerry (Sharon) Piqune of Warren; a sister, Janet (Lowell) Hartman of Berne; four grandchildren, Jacob (Tiffany) Piqune, Harmony (Jerrod) Fox, Anthony (Lisa) Weaver, and Ambra (Demetris) Parker; and nine great-grandchildren, Lewis Piqune, Iris Piqune, Gabriel Fox, Eli Fox, Asa Weaver, Arden Weaver, Adison Weaver, D.J. Weaver, and Emon Jones.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Harry Piqune and John Piqune, and a sister, Louise Pressler.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday April 24, 2024, at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, located at 415 N. Lee St. in Markle.

A funeral Service will be held at noon on Wednesday April 24, 2024, immediately following the visitation, at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel.
