Norwell graduate and former Northern Illinois and NFL quarterback Chandler Harnish was announced as a member of the Region 3 Indiana Football Hall of Fame for 2024 on Monday morning.

Harnish was one of three members to be selected: Roosevelt Barnes, Bob Bergeron, Chris Dittoe and Glen Steele were the others.

In his time with the Huskies, Harnish played 43 games and threw for nearly 4,000 yards and 68 touchdowns. He also was rushed for 1,379 yards in his final season.

After four years at Northern Illinois, Harnish was picked 253rd overall by the Indianapolis Colts in 2012. He spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and the Minnesota Vikings.

The five members will be honored at the induction banquet at 6:30 p.m., July 15 at Goeglein’s Banquet Hall in Fort Wayne. The cost is $55 per person and the inductions begin at 7 p.m. The address to the hall is 7311 Maysville Rd.
