Mini Golf at the main branch of the Wells County Public Library got underway Friday, during regular library hours.

It was a family event as brothers Asher and Dalton Shotzman took turns teeing off at hole six, as their mother, at left, waited for her turn and their dad, out of camera range, kept score.

The 18-hole course led the golfers through the library stacks — starting by the Arts Prints to Loan area and ending up with their balls being “eaten” by a book return bin.

Declaring “bragging rights” for their winning golf scores and posing for a group photo, taken by their escort Scott, at right, were Courage, Khaleesi, Karrane and Chauntelle Garmon.

Just as at regular golf events, each of the holes had a sponsor and the sponsors included: Emshwiller & Emshwiller, Erin Daugherty State Farm, Honegger Ringger & Co. Inc, Adams Wells Internet Telecom, Auctionit, Bluffton Family Eye Care, Daniel’s Jewelers, Eyecare Associates of Bluffton, Family Ford of Bluffton, First Bank of Berne, Four Star Services, Inc., Iteva Products LLC, Parlor City Cabinetry, Kim Gentis/Raymond James, Lowe’s Bluffton, Meyer Building, National Oil & Gas Inc., The Parlor City Brewing Company, Renovate Counseling Services LLC, Star Engineering & Machine Co., Ben Burman State Farm Agent and Wells County Land Title.

Teeing off at the second hole on the mini golf course at the Wells County Public Library was Isaac Smith, at right, as the rest of his team waited a turn. A family member, at the left, was keeping score for the group. (Photos by Barbara Barbieri)

Cost to play a round of golf was $5 at the door. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of the Library — the group that helps funds library programs and events.

The mini course was also open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
