Knights keep NE8 record perfect in win over Barons

Norwell improved to 11-12, 3-0 NE8 after a 74-44 win over DeKalb on the road Saturday night.

The Knights dominated from downtown, splashing 14 triples at 40 percent from the night.

Kennedy Fuelling led the team with 23 points on 9-22 shooting with seven rebounds and four steals. Makenzie Fuess was a 20-point scorer for the night, hitting 7-17 from the field with five rebounds and four steals.

Norwell’s next game will be at home against Lawrence North starting at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23.

Tigers get fifth at New Haven Super 10

Bluffton’s wrestling team finished fifth out of 10 teams at the New Haven Super Duals on Saturday.

The Tigers finished the day with a 2-3 record in their five matches.

In its wins, Bluffton defeated Whitko 60-23 and Lakeland 60-18.

In losses, Bluffton fell to Prairie Heights 42-39, New Haven 66-12, and Yorktown 48-33.

Norwell places third at Wawasee Super Duals

Norwell’s wrestling team finished tied for third with a 3-2 record at the Wawasee Super Duals on Saturday.

The Knights defeated Bishop Luers 66-12 and Wawasee 47-28.

Northridge won over Norwell 40-28, Angola won 43-34 and Plymouth won 40-29.

Knights move up one spot in IBCA girls’ rankings

Norwell went up one spot from No. 14 to No. 13 in the latest IBCA girls’ basketball rankings released on Sunday night.

This past week, the Knights (11-2) defeated Woodlan in the non-conference schedule and beat DeKalb in Northeast 8 play. Those two victories are now up to nine in a row after losing to No. 8 Homestead in November.

Lawrence Central tops the rankings, followed by 2. Hamilton Southeastern, 3. Columbia City, 4. Snider and 5. Center Grove.

In the boys’ rankings, Lawrence North is at the top, followed by 2. Fishers, 3. Westfield, 4. Cathedral and 5. Noblesville.
