Beverly “Bev” J. Boots, 90, of Bluffton, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 29, 2023 at the Lutheran Hospital. 

Bev had worked many jobs over the years, including working in Insurance right out of High school.  She baby sat for several kids over the years, worked at the Treasurer’ office at the Bluffton Court House, the Bacon Bin, Country Squire Flowers, Markle Furniture and Markle Bank. Bev then was the Secretary at the Markle Church of Christ until her retirement in 1997. She was a 1951 graduate of East Rockcreek. 

Bev was a lifelong member of the Markle Church of Christ and had served in the nursery and as Sunday school secretary for many years. She enjoyed working in the yard and garden. Bev loved spending time with family and friends, playing games and cards. She was a wonderful Christian woman who always had a smile on her face and gave great hugs.

She was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Huntington County, a daughter of the late Leo and Emma (Nelson) Siela.

She was united in marriage to Claron E. Boots on Oct. 26, 1957 in Markle. Claron preceded her in death Jan. 31, 2022

Survivors include two daughters, Judi Flowers of Bluffton and Joni (Joe) Tapé’ of Columbia, Md.; a son, Dave (Sharilyn) Boots of Bluffton; six grandchildren, Chris (Amber) Flowers, Jamie (Nick) Brumit, Jared (Valerie) Tapé, Jaqueline (Chesney) Wheeler, Kyler Boots and Kiersten Boots. Twenty great-grandchildren, Eli Flowers, Cal Borne, Sophia Huss, Huxlee Flowers, Haylie Tigner, Hunter Tigner, Harper Tigner, Hudson Tigner, Bella Brumit, Hope Brumit, Drew Brumit, Elijah Brumit, Aniyah Tapé, Leila Tapé, Jared E. Tapé, Caden Tapé, Alekz Wells, Ronald Moreno, Ace Wheeler and Ava Wheeler. 

Bev was last of thirteen children, preceded by eight brothers and four sisters. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law Bob Flowers. 

Visitation will take place Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle, IN.

Funeral Services will also take place Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023 at 6:00 p.m., following the visitation at the Markle Church of Christ.

Interment will take place on a later date in the Markle Cemetery.
