Norwell and Bluffton officially ended their seasons at the regional meet Friday afternoon at Noble Hawk Golf Links.

Results of the meet were not immediately available at the time of print.

Norwell, as a team, finished the year second in the Northeast 8 Conference, along with some hardware in the process.

The scores at the regional might not have been what the team wanted but it doesn’t take away from a memorable season.

“The girls played OK today,” Norwell head coach Mike Niermeyer said. “Had some good shots and some not so good. They always want to play better. The course was playing difficult today with the tight pin placements.”

“We had an awesome season,” he continued. “We won the Bellmont Invite, South Adams Invite, and the Bi-County and placed second in conference and sectional.”

For Bluffton, Emma Schwartz qualified as an individual. She scored a 96, which was 10 strokes better than last season.

As only a sophomore, Schwartz has made her mark and continues to be a leader for the Tigers with two years of experience under her belt.

“Her sophomore season exceeded her expectations, but it was what Coach Ault, myself, and her family knew she had in her,” head coach Tara Cocanower said. “She learned something from every shot, and it’s awesome to have two more years with her leading the way.”

The Knights and Tigers will have different offseasons this year.

Norwell graduates five seniors from the team, and Niermeyer shared he will be excited to see what underclassmen can bring to the team with practices beginning next June.

For Bluffton, Cocanower’s group returns all but one senior from the ACAC championship team. The squad missed out on regional qualification with a fourth-place finish in the sectional.
