Dave Reiff, 84, of Macon, Ga., passed away at 2:58 a.m. on July 9, 2023, at Pruitt Healthcare, in Forsyth, Ga.

A memorial service will be held  at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 at Bluffton United Methodist Church, 325 W Washington St. in Bluffton. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at South Whitley Cemetery, 7745 IN-14 in South Whitley.

Dave was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Susan L. Reiff; parents, Lewis David Reiff, and K. Willodean Moore Reiff; and sister, Sheila Ann Sturm. 

Survivors include a brother, Paul Jon Reiff; three children, Chris  (Chip) Davis, Katie (Joe) Forshee, and David (Julie) Reiff III; 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He graduated with the Benton Harbor High School Class of ‘57, attended Purdue University, and earned his B.A. from Brenau University. He was employed as a mechanical engineer at Sangamo Electric (Ind., Ga.), Wanderlodge (Ga.), and General Manufacturing (Ind.). He had patents awarded during his career. Dave ran a small business, Animals Aglaze, in Macon, Ga. 

Dave was an active member of churches, including Westminster Presbyterian Church (Ill.), Martha Bowman UMC (Ga.), Bluffton UMC (Ind.), and most recently, Eatonton First UMC (Ga.). He was a devoted choir member and active in numerous church groups.

Dave loved barbershop style singing and was a member of SPEBSQSA for 40+ years. He held numerous offices with the Heart of Georgia and Summit City Choruses and sang with several quartets that won district competitions and went on to compete at the international level.

Dave was a veteran of the Air National Guard, and member of a variety of community organizations, such as the Jaycees and Junior Achievement, and was Scoutmaster for a BSA troop of adults with disabilities.
