The project’s focus is to build houses for birds, bats, and solitary pollinators at Ouabache State Park. Kaitlyn will also be writing pamphlets about the conservation efforts of these animals to help educate the public and grow its compassion for conservation efforts and the animals that inhabit our community.

So, the next time you are at Ouabache, make sure you are on the lookout for these houses. Upon completion of the project, Kaitlyn will earn her Gold Star Award.

YAR is a program that recognizes youth as a valuable community resource. The program is governed by a youth/adult partnership responsible for awarding grants up to $500 to other local youth organizations to design and carry out community service projects.

To receive a grant proposal, contact Abigail Walker at Family Centered Services, Inc. at 824-8574 or WellsYAR@yahoo.com) or visit www.fcs-inc.net.

Fall funding requests are due by Monday, Oct. 2, 2023.
