Tuesday, 3:12 p.m., 200 block of East Washington Street. Report of yelling hard behind parking lot.

Tuesday, 5:14 p.m., West Hale Street and North Wausau Court. Property found near the Bluffton cemetery.

Tuesday, 9:06 p.m., near 60 block of Westgate Road. Caller advised car alarm has been going off for an hour.

Tuesday, 10:20 p.m., near 700 block of West Cherry Street. Annoyed caller reported being ding dong ditched several times.

Wednesday, 12:16 a.m., 900 block of West South Street. Caller reported banging on door.

Wednesday, 1:03 a.m., Budget Inn. Caller requested officer to standby while picking up adult son. No issues.

Wednesday, 7:06 a.m., PNC Bank. Caller requested assistance with kitten stuck in engine compartment. Unable to locate kitten, driver advised they would wait a bit or contact a body shop.

Wednesday, 7:21 a.m., Walmart. Welfare check requested for two children who were left alone in a vehicle in the parking lot. Parents were located in store and explained common sense rules of not leaving children unattended in a car.

Wednesday, 11:39 a.m., Inteva. HR department requested officer to retrieve small pouches found in lobby believed to be narcotics.

Wednesday, 11:52 a.m., Inteva. Report of vandalism to vehicle during callers third shift hours.

County:

Tuesday, 4:29 p.m., residence on south County Home Road, Bluffton. Caller reported someone had knocked on the bathroom door while she was inside, but no one else was supposed to be at the residence. The caller said she waited a few minutes before going outside and calling the police. The residence was cleared and nothing suspicious was found around the property.

Tuesday, 6:40 p.m., northwest Ind. 116 and north 500W, Markle. Several reports received regarding a man walking in the roadway appearing to be under the influence. Deputies made contact with the man, who appeared to have poor balance and multiple scrapes. The man was speaking fast and fidgeting and moving constantly. He identified himself as Charles Carr, and said he had seen his ex partner in Bluffton and was returning to Huntington. However, a sergeant recognized the man as Alonza Paul Howard, 43, Bluffton. Dispatch advised that Howard had an indicative skull tattoo on his left arm, and the man had a matching tattoo. Howard was taken into custody, where he began complaining of chest pain and dry heaving. The sergeant stopped and then transported Howard, who became increasingly agitated, to Bluffton Regional Medical Center for medical examination. At BRMC, Howard admitted to using fentanyl earlier in the day. Howard was arrested for false reporting, a Class B misdemeanor, breaking and entering, a Level 6 felony, and public intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor. 

Tuesday, 11:36 p.m., east Ind. 218 and south 600E, Bluffton. Abandoned vehicle found. Note on the vehicle stated the driver had encountered a flat tire and would return with a new tire. 

Ossian:

Wednesday, 12:45 a.m., north Jefferson Street and east Roe Street. Driver stopped for a headlight. The driver’s license was suspended. Two passengers waited for pick-up. 

Wednesday, 1:19 a.m., north Ind. 1 and east 700N. Traffic stop initiated regarding a vehicle with one headlight. Driver Dalila Del Rosano Lemus Rodriguez, 38, Fort Wayne, provided a license from Guatemala and stated she had an international license. This was not found in a records check. Rodriguez was arrested for operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license, a Class C misdemeanor. She was booked and released. 

Wednesday, 2:21 a.m., south Jefferson Street and west Young Street. Caller reported they were being followed by an aggressive dog. The caller said the dog was keeping a 20 ft. distance, but barking aggressively. A deputy located the dog’s owner, who said she had gotten loose. However, during this interaction, the dog ran away farther and they were unable to locate the dog. 

ACCIDENTS

County:

Monday, 8:13 p.m., West 1050 S-90, Keystone. Timothy L. Davis, 57, Montpelier, was driving a Kawasaki KLX230R in the grass on private property between fields and fell of the back of the vehicle while popping up on the back wheel. The bike came down on Davis, puncturing his left leg between the calf and his ankle. Davis was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for medical treatment. His blood alcohol levels were also tested and results are pending.

Tuesday, 10:22 a.m., I-69 at mile marker 291.9, Zanesville. A juvenile was driving a 2009 Pontiac G5 northbound when a vehicle turned into his lane, causing him to his the brakes. The juvenile then lost control of the vehicle, leaving the west side of the roadway and striking the cable barrier between the north and southbound lanes. The vehicle continued crossing the roadway and entered a ditch on the east of I-69, where it rolled and came to rest. Freeman’s towed the vehicle. Damage exceeded $5,000. 

FIRES

Tuesday, 4:33 p.m., 500 block of Normandy Drive, Ossian. Residential fire reported. Fire was reported under control at approximately 5 p.m.
