Friday, 2:00 p.m., Walmart. Possible theft case reported, investigation ongoing. 

Friday, 2:14 p.m., Change Up Thrift. Report of a man who appeared to be on drugs.

Friday, 5:10 p.m., Capri Meadows Apartments. Report of verbal argument between father and adult son.

Friday, 6:27 p.m., Budget Inn. Report of a verbal argument, man left on foot. 

Friday, 7:34 p.m., Budget Inn. Woman from previous call reported she believed man did something to her vehicle after being unable to start it to leave. The woman left.

Friday, 8:10 p.m., Beth Avenue and South Street. Multiple callers reporting 5 juveniles driving recklessly on golf cart. Officers confirmed the cart was being legally driven and advised kids to abide by traffic laws.

Friday, 9:12 p.m., Beth Avenue and South Street. Caller reported golf cart from previous call returned and is yelling at them.

Friday, 9:27 p.m., West Market and North Union streets. Report of fireworks. Officers did not hear them but spoke with residents and informed them of the noise ordinance and permitted firework times. 

Friday, 10:52 p.m., Wells Community Swimming Pool. Assisted a caller with keys left at pool.

Saturday, 12:33 a.m., Praxis. Female patient requested to speak with officer. Officer helped woman call family for a ride.

Saturday, 1:40 a.m., Praxis. Patient advised she has a ride coming from Indianapolis and requested help obtaining personal property back from facility. Officer spoke with her about her phone not being able to be given to her tonight, woman was upset and didn’t understand reasoning.

Saturday, 7:39 a.m., Premier Flats. Report of dogs barking all weekend, caller concerned dogs are not cared for during weekend. Owner was cited and ticket left on door.

Saturday, 12:11 p.m., 1200 block of Hollyhock Lane. Report of aggressive dog. Dog was contained in fence in yard.

Saturday, 1:28 p.m., Scooters Coffee. Report of person threatening employee. Person was warned for trespassing.

Saturday, 3:46 p.m., Walmart. Report of woman walking out of store with full cart. Woman was arrested, report to follow.

Saturday, 3:51 p.m., South Bond and West South streets. Report of burning leaves, spoke to homeowner, advised not to burn leaves.

Saturday, 4:46 p.m., Praxis. Woman leaving against medical advice, requesting welfare check. Located the woman and gave courtesy transport to Bluffton Regional Medical Center. 

Saturday, 5:54 p.m., Cricket Wireless. Caller reported two people in parked car in lot they believed to be using drugs.

Saturday, 9:07 p.m., 500 block of West Market Street. Report of loud noise, home owner turned down music. 

Saturday, 9:32 p.m., 500 block of West Market Street. Man reported burglary at his apartment but refused to meet officers there. Asked for ride but had no address to give.

Saturday, 10:26 p.m., Steffen Oil. Report of man going in and out of traffic. Unable to locate.

Saturday, 11:22 p.m., 200 block of East Washington Street. Man reported theft from his apartment, unable to tell what items were missing.

Sunday, 10:13 p.m., Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Caller reported that he was assaulted. 

Monday, 6:10 a.m., Kroger. Report of semi truck blocking back entrance. Driver contacted. 

Monday, 8:07 a.m., 900 block of West Wabash Street. Caller requesting assistance to dispose of ammo, was advised of how to properly dispose. 

Monday, 8:50 a.m., Hardee’s. Caller reported vandalism to her car. 

Monday, 10:30 a.m., Budget Inn. Caller reporting person threatening to fight them and their girlfriend.

Monday, 10:43 a.m., Wells County Public Library. Caller reported theft of cash and a speaker. Investigation ongoing. 

ACCIDENTS

City:

Sunday, 10:14 a.m., West Wiley Avenue and South Williams Street. Sarah King was stopped at a stop sign on South Williams Street when she proceeded forward in an attempt to see past parked cars on Wiley Avenue. Her vehicle collided with the front passenger side of Collin Evans’ vehicle. Damages estimated at $10,001-$25,000. 

Monday, 5:20 a.m., Ind. 1 and Ind. 116. Ryan Crismore was traveling southbound on Ind. 1 and began to turn left onto Ind. 116 when he collided with the vehicle of Jason Harding. Harding was unresponsive and transported to Lutheran Hospital by Wells County EMS. A warrant was obtained to test Crismore’s blood. Results are pending. 

FIRES

Saturday, 1:17 a.m., 1200 block of Hollyhock Lane. Report of smoke in he area. Located a small brush fire and extinguished the leaves.

Sunday, 2:42 a.m., 900 block of Grove Street. Trailer fully engulfed by fire reported, all residents believed to be out. Fire was under control approximately 32 minutes later.

Sunday, 7:09 p.m., 500 block of Countryside Drive. Report of a stove fire. Fire was extinguished.
