A two-vehicle accident in rural Adams County left four people injured Tuesday morning.
Preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 7:53 a.m., Stacy Mowery, Decatur, crossed the center line on Covered Bridge Road in Toyota Scion, striking a Ford Escort driven by Yvette Weiland, Geneva.
In a press release, Sheriff Dan Mawhorr stated Mowery and her two passengers were transported for medical attention. Passenger Dakota Burrow, Bluffton, was transported to a hospital in Fort Wayne in critical condition; Mowery and passenger Dylan Franks, Bluffton, were are both in stable condition.
Mawhorr stated Weiland was also transported to a Fort Wayne hospital with several injuries and is currently in stable condition.
The Indiana State Police were called in for accident reconstruction and are currently investigating the cause of the accident. The accident is still under investigation by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police.
The Geneva, Berne and Bluffton Police Departments, Geneva Fire Department, and Adams Memorial Paramedics also assisted at the scene.
