Mary Jane Frauhiger, 83 of Poneto, passed away Friday afternoon, April 28, 2023, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Mary Jane was born May 3, 1939 in Wells County to Harold C. & Dorothy (Ruse) Grimm. She graduated from Petroleum High School in 1957.
Mary Jane worked for Franklin Electric for 32 years before she retired in 2001. She was a member of Southern Wells Community Church and a former member of Chester Center Church. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and camping at Wildwood.
On Nov. 30, 1974, Mary Jane and Paul “Frog” Frauhiger were married. Together they celebrated 48 years of marriage.
Survivors include her husband Paul “Frog” Frauhiger of Poneto, along with many nieces and nephews. Mary Jane is also survived by her beloved Morkie, Teddy, who has been a loved member of the family for 13 years!
She is preceded in death by her parents and five brothers; Harrold L. Grimm, Pete Grimm, Gerald Grimm, Roger Grimm, and Robert Grimm; and a special niece that was like a daughter, Roxie (Grimm) Michael.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor Dewey Zent officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery in Poneto.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Memorials may be made in Mary Jane’s memory to the Friends of the Wells County Animal Shelter.
