Knights sweep on girls’ tennis senior night over Bulldogs

The Norwell girls’ tennis team won over New Haven on senior night 5-0 Monday.

The Knights record is now 8-2 on the season.

Varsity results:

• Addy Heyerly defeated Malee Snodgrass 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 singles.

• McKenna McNabb defeated Kendall Rowland 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 singles.

• Brooklyn Pine defeated Elia Colin 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 singles.

• Annabelle Johnson and Macy Felger defeated Jessica Didion and Aailyah Casiano 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 doubles.

• Jordyn Xayyachack and Idoia Ochoa defeated Nakia Capers and Brooke Thornhill 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 doubles.

Norwell also swept through the junior varsity match 10-0.

Tigers defeat Raiders in MS boys’ golf 

The Bluffton middle school golf team defeated Southern Wells Monday.

Bluffton won by a team score of 176-207.

Reid Abbett for the Tigers was the medalist, shooting a 38 on the day. Following Abbett for Bluffton was Rafe Gerber with a 45, Gibson Grieser 46, Abe Atkins 47, and Bennett Stoller 55.

The team leader for the Raiders was Cash Banter with a 45, Dirk Frauhiger followed with a 49, Wade Tappy 55, Josh Alback 58, and Erica Bevins 61.

Norwell MS golf defeats Maple Creek

The Norwell middle school golf team traveled to Maple Creek at Shoaff Park and won.

The Knights won by a team score of 227-229.

Leading the way for Norwell was Sam Squires, who shot a 41, followed by Reid Bolyn with a 44, and Illiyana Sailors with a 45.

The team will be at DeKalb Wednesday.

Knights fall to Summit in MS girls’ soccer

The Norwell middle school girls’ soccer team lost 8-1 to Summit Monday.

Head coach Dan Batdorff said that Addison Parson, Jillian Smith, Avery Elmore, and Adrienne Wagner played hard and made several really good plays.

The lone goal for the Knights was scored by Kaylee Bennett.

Norwell will be at Paul Harding at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 9.

Tigers compete in unified track for first time ever

Bluffton High School made history by competing in the first-ever unified track meet at Norwell High School Monday.

Results for the event:

• Angel Zoria competed in the 100m and placed third in her heat with a time of 37.19.

• Sacra Powell ran in the 100m and placed first and first in the shot put with a throw of 28 feet.

• Josie Session finished third in her heat in the 100m.

• Chloe Bredemeyer finished second in her heat in the 100m and fourth in her heat in the 400m.

• Emma Bredemeyer finished fourth in her heat in the 100m and second in the shot put with a throw of 11 feet.
