Thursday, 3:49 p.m., person came to the Bluffton Police Department reporting identity theft.

Thursday, 7:45 p.m., Praxis substance abuse treatment facility, 1529 W. Lancaster St. Caller reported his personal belongings were stolen while he was a patient at Praxis.

County:

Thursday, 12:20 p.m., rural Uniondale woman reported someone made four unauthorized transactions on her bank account totaling $4,000.

Thursday, 4:09 p.m., U.S, 224 west of 700E. Semi in a ditch.

Friday, 2:19 a.m., residence on 100N west of 300W. Burglar alarm. Sheriff’s deputies responded. No sign of foul play found.

Friday, 8:48 a.m., residence on Market Street in Petroleum. Caller reported purse and wallet taken from her vehicle overnight.

Friday, 10:25 a.m. 1200N  at the Norfolk Southern railroad crossing. Railroad retrieved contents from a container that blew off a railroad car in December.

ACCIDENTS

City:

Thursday, 5:09 p.m., Main Street just north of Wabash Street. Daute J. Willis, 15, Fort Wayne, was crossing the street on his bicycle when he failed to notice southbound 2001 Buick LeSabre driven by Joyce A. Eisenhut, 67, Bluffton. Eisenhut could not avoid hitting the bike. Willis was transported to Bluffton Regional Medical Center for treatment. Damages to the car and the bike were estimated at less than $1,000. Bluffton Fire Rescue was also dispatched to the scene, however Willis did not stay at the scene of the crash but continued to ride the bike westbound and was located by a Bluffton police officer at Market and Williams streets.

Thursday, 5:20 p.m., Bond Street at Cherry Street. Anna K. Tanner, 18, Bluffton, was driving a 2009 Honda Accord west on Cherry Street when she stopped for Bond Street and then proceeded across the intersection into the path of a  northbound 2006 Toyota Sienna van driven by Christa E. Walker, 53, Bluffton. Damage exceeded $5,000.

Friday, 11:08 Ind. 124 East at Main Street. Kelly Gardner, 53, Bluffton, was waiting in a 2006 Buick LeSabre to turn left. Amber R. Hurych, Bluffton, was turning a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu onto Ind. 124 East, turned too tight, and clipped the Lucerne causing more than $1,000 damage.

County:

Thursday, 6:28 a.m., Ind. 201 between Ind. 124 and 100S. Gene L. Gilgen Jr., 66, rural Bluffton, hit a deer with his 2022 Ford F-150. Damage to the pickup truck exceeded $1,000.

FIRE RUNS

Friday, 4:02 a.m., 221 E. Central Avenue. Smell of something burning in the house. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. No fire. Source of smell was traced to the motor on the furnace of the home that had burned out.
