INCIDENTS
City:
Wednesday, 2:57 p.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. A couple reportedly exited the store with a cart full of groceries and did not pay for them. The couple entered a vehicle and headed north on Ind. 1 toward Ossian. A sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle and started following it and an Ossian police officer stood by at Jefferson Street and Industrial Parkway and pulled the vehicle over on Industrial Parkway just west of Hillcrest Drive. The officer observed in his report that there was merchandise in the back seat of the vehicle that was not in any shopping bag. The two were placed under arrest by a Bluffton police officer shortly afterward. George Virgil Harker, 24, Bluffton, and Athena Marie Tziquin, 18, Huntington, were each charged with one count of theft, a Class A misdemeanor.
Wednesday, 6:09 p.m., Star Engineering, 1717 W. Lancaster St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. Alarm accidentally tripped by a cleaning crew.
Wednesday, 6:35 p.m., NEOTI, 910 W. Lancaster St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.

Wednesday, 11:26 p.m., Silo Farms mobile home park. Report of a loud verbal altercation between a man and a woman at one of the mobile homes in the park. Sheriff’s deputies and Ossian police dispatched. Situation calmed, parties separated. Information taken for a report.
Wednesday, 10:39 a.m., Marzane Road north of 800N. Sheriff’s deputy came across a loose goat. The deputy made sure the goat returned to its fenced area.
Ossian:
Tuesday, 10:27 p.m., while monitoring traffic on Jefferson Street north of 900N. An Ossian police officer clocked a northbound car at 65 mph-45 zone and managed to catch up to it and pull it over on Ind. 1 near Yider Road. Jack Fisher, Fort Wayne, was cited for speeding.
Wednesday, 4:45 p.m., Ossian All American Deli, 404 N. Jefferson St. Officer assisted a confused older male in the store.
ACCIDENTS
County:
Wednesday, 1:22 p.m., County Home Road at 500S. Darla Fiechter, 50, rural Bluffton, was driving a 2012 Honda Pilot north on County Home Road when the sport utility vehicle was pulled into the ditch, struck a field access lane and spun 180 degrees. Bluffton Fire Rescue and Wells County EMS were dispatched to the scene but Fiechter declined transport by ambulance to the hospital. Damage exceeded $10,000.
Wednesday, 6:42 p.m., 200S near 300W. Christopher Elzey, 40, rural Bluffton, hit a deer 2010 GMC Terrain. Damage to the sport utility vehicle exceeded $5,000.
Thursday, 7:36 a.m., 300W north of 250S. Alaina L. Denny, 23, rural Bluffton, hit a deer with a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. Damage to the car exceeded $2,500.
ARRESTS
Robert Patrell Anderson, 34, Fort Wayne; driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense. Anderson was sentenced Thursday in Wells Superior Court, fined $500 and ordered to pay court costs of $185.50. He was also ordered to serve two days in the Wells County Jail which were credited to him as time served.
