NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED
INCREASE IN WATER RATES AND CHARGES
FOR THE TOWN OF OSSIAN, INDIANA
Property owners and other interested parties in the Town of Ossian, Indiana, are hereby notified that the Rate Ordinance, decreasing the rates and charges for services to be rendered by the water utility, was introduced at a meeting of the Town Council held on September 12, 2022. A public hearing of the Town Council will be held at 7:00 p.m., local time, on October 10, 2022, at Collier’s, 215 N. Jefferson St. Ossian, Indiana 46777, on the matter of the rates and charges. The Town Council will convene and may consider the adoption of said ordinance at its regular meeting to be held on October 10, 2022.
The Rate Ordinance provides for an decrease in rates as set forth in Exhibit A.
At such public hearing and prior to final adoption of the Rate Ordinance, all interested parties may appear and be heard. The complete text of proposed Rate Ordinance is on file and available for examination and copying at the office of the Town’s Clerk-Treasurer at 507 N. Jefferson St., Ossian, Indiana 46777, during regular business hours, and will be available at the public hearing.
Following the adoption of the Rate Ordinance, users located outside the Town’s corporate boundaries may be entitled to petition the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission under Indiana Code 8-1.5-3-8.3 to review and adjust the rates and charges imposed on the users if a petition under Indiana Code 8-1.5-3-8.2 or Indiana Code 36-9-23-26.1 with respect to the Rate Ordinance has not been filed.

52.50(C) Phase In of 52.50(A) and (B) Rates and Charges:
(1) The Phase 3 revised rates shall supersede and replace those Phase 3 rates effective as of and for and after the first billing period commencing following adoption.
(2) The Phase 4 revised rates shall supersede and replace those Phase 3 rates effective as of and for and after the first billing period commencing following May 31, 2024.
(3) The Phase 5 revised rates shall supersede and replace those Phase 4 rates effective as of and for and after the first billing period commencing following May 31, 2026.
(4) The Phase 6 revised rates shall supersede and replace those Phase 5 rates effective as of and for and after the first billing period commencing following May 31, 2028.
NOTE: The rates and charges of this Section 52.50 apply to individual customers; they shall not be construed to permit multiple customers being served through one meter, except as expressly authorized in advance and in writing by the Town Council.”
