The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff, Ambassadors and community members gathered for a ribbon cutting celebration and grand opening for ProFed Credit Unions new location at 1644 North Main Street in Bluffton. ProFed has been in the Bluffton community since 1980, with their first location on Cherry Street.
ProFed was founded in 1933 and has grown to serve nine northeast Indiana counties such as Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Whitley and Wells counties with a total of 12 branch locations. ProFed has leased the building where the old branch was located at Commerce Drive with their goal to own all branches.
Once the property became available on North Main Street, ProFed decided to buy and build a new branch in Bluffton. Michael Kinder & Sons, a design-build partner, helped bring the new Bluffton branch to life. The Bluffton branch is very similar to the look and feel of the new branches built in Columbia City, Decatur, and Fort Wayne in the last couple of years – all built with MKS. The new, full-service 3,500 square-foot Bluffton branch has four front offices and two video teller machines/ATMs on the premise.
Nina Baker, President and CEO of ProFed, said, “For over 30 years, ProFed has grown with our members and community in Wells County. Unveiling our video teller machines at the new Bluffton branch allows us to extend our hours to assist our members better and provide 24/7 ATM service to anyone. We enjoy taking part in events that bring the area together.”
The new features include an updated and modern look, spacious lobby with USB charging stations and seating, two-lane drive-up with video teller machines (VTMs), extended drive-thru hours, digital interior sign displays, and a digital exterior monument sign.
Kristi Lockwood, Branch Manager, said, “It was great to have so many people from the community attend our grand opening. As I was giving tours of the branch, our guests were impressed with how the VTMs worked and how beautiful our branch turned out.”
As growth takes place for ProFed, their values remain the same, staying member-focused when serving the communities. ProFed has given graciously to many community events and functions within Wells County.
“Our roots are planted firmly in Wells County, and we are grateful to be a part of this wonderful community,” said Patty Randall, AVP of Deposit Operations. “We look forward to working hard to build relationships here to assist in the growth and fellowship that makes Wells County a great place to live, work, and worship!”
Randall stated, “We are excited to add the convenience of Video Teller Machines to the Bluffton branch with extended hours, including being open on Saturdays. Our previous location did not provide the space needed to accommodate VTMs. So, lucky for us, we were able to build this beautiful new branch that gave us the space needed to bring them to Bluffton.”
