Norwell boys’ tennis defeats FW Snider on the road

The Norwell Knights’ tennis team took the road trip to Fort Wayne Snider Monday afternoon and won the match 4-1, moving to an overall record to 10-3.

The results for the singles matches were the Knights’ winning with Ethan Ottinger over Talan Rowe 6-3, 6-0 and Bodie Zimmer over Tavis Rowe 6-4, 6-4. The lone winner for Snider was Camden Davis over Owen Cupp 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles, Norwell won both of the matches, starting with Winston Frauhiger and Brason Chaney beating Max Mohrman and Jack Morhman 6-2, 6-3. Jaden Payne and Jake Hoover won their match over Tyler Martin and Coleen Kline 6-1, 6-2.

Snider won the JV match 5-2.

The winners for Norwell at singles were Gavin Reynolds over Solomon Tatnall 8-6 and Ethan Wilson over Evan Taylor 8-7, 4-3.

The winners for Snider in singles were Sam Cormany over Ignacio Albrecht 8-6 and Ryan Weibel over Brayden Wallace 4-2.

In doubles, Snider won all of the matches. Jace Eastom and David Crothers defeated Eddie Archbold and Ayden Quintanilla 8-4. Jace Eastom and David Crothers beat Ethan Williamson and James Simmerman 8-1. Ethan Welch and Ryan Weibel defeated Alex Baker and Christian Werling 8-0.

Norwell girls’ soccer loses close game to NE8 DeKalb

The Norwell girls’ soccer team hosted conference opponent DeKalb Monday night, losing 3-2 in a close match with the Barons.

The goal-scorers for the Lady Knights’ were Grace Mann and Makenzie Fuess.

Norwell’s record is an even 6-6 on the season after the loss, falling to 2-3 in the conference.

Norwell won the JV match 1-0. The game was played with one 35-minute half.

The lone goal on the night was scored by Anna Thomas, assisted by Aubrey Meyer.

The Knights will travel to Heritage at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 21. 

Norwell boys’ soccer loses on the road to DeKalb

The Norwell boys’ soccer team traveled to DeKalb in its conference match, losing 4-1. The Knights now are 3-8-1 overall, 2-2 in the Northeast 8 Conference.

Norwell’s lone goal came from Austin DeLeon in the first half, assisted by Logan Renninger.

DeKalb’s Omanol Hernandez scored a hat trick.

Noah Fromm made five stops for the Knights in net.

Norwell will host Heritage for another conference match starting at 6:15 p.m.
