Is it just me, or have you noticed a lot of bees lately? I think they know that Street Fair is right around the corner. Speaking of the fair, visit them on Facebook at Bluffton Free Street Fair to see a list of all the activities. Kid’s Day events are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24th. The diaper derby for ages one and under starts at 9 am, and the kid’s tractor pull begins at 9:30 for ages 5-7. The Big Wheel Race will start at 10 am, followed by the Prince and Princess Judging at 11. All events are FREE! 

If you haven’t already purchased your tickets for the Saturday night concert at Kehoe Park, you will want to get them soon! The Four Horseman (the ultimate Tribute to Metallica) and Night Train (a Guns and Roses Experience) will be rocking the stage starting at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are only $10 and can be purchased online at brownpapertickets.com or in person at NAPA. If you wait to buy your tickets that night, they are $15 at the gate.

Estate Planning September 29th – Every day, we are bombarded by multiple sources telling us how to plan for the future as we age–friends, social media, printed material, radio ads, and online articles with different recommendations. While well-intentioned, most of that advice is misleading or just plain wrong. Join attorney Timothy Babcock for a presentation on navigating myth from fact regarding estate planning and Medicaid.

Treat Trade October 6th – Bring your favorite sweet or salty treat (2 dozen) for others to indulge in, along with a copy of the recipe. Treat trade will be held on October 6th, where we will be sharing and sampling your delectable treats and recipes with others in the group. Please register and turn in your recipes by September 22nd; you will be asked to drop your recipes off at the Bluffton Parks Department or email them to events@blufftonindiana.gov.

Medicare 101 October 13th and 20th – On October 13th Deb Taylor will be presenting on “Gearing up for Open Enrollment for Medicare.” On October 20th, we will do an Open Enrollment and “What you need to know,” There will be a couple of counselors to assist you that day with enrollment or looking at the plan finder.

We are now accepting pavilion rentals to reserve Washington Park for January – March 2023. If you have a winter birthday party, bridal shower, or other celebration in those months, you can call 824-6069 to hold your date. Mark your calendar for a new event on Saturday, October 15th, from 7-9 p.m. called Bites & Flights! Enjoy a beer or wine flight while perfecting your charcuterie board-building skills. Join us for a fun-filled date night with your sweetheart or best friends. Learn how to create a gorgeous and delicious charcuterie board while sipping a flight of your choice. Registration includes all the materials you need to make your personalized board for two that you can nibble on that night or take home, a complimentary beer or wine flight featuring six different choices (1 flight per person), and handouts with techniques, tips, and tricks to confidently recreate your charcuterie spread again and again. Don’t forget to stop by the Parlor City Plaza on Friday, September 16th, for a concert by Rylie Lynn Band. Music is from 7-10 p.m. and food sales start at 6 p.m.
