Norwell tennis improves to 4-0 in NE8 play with win over New Haven
The Norwell Knights tennis team won its match 5-0 over New Haven Tuesday afternoon.
For singles, Norwell’s winners were Ethan Ottinger over Mason McNeil 6-0, 6-2. Grant Mishler over Jordan Johnson 6-0, 6-0. Bodie Zimmer over Camden Beard 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, the team of Norwell’s Winson Frauhiger and Brason Chaney defeated Brayden Eagleson 6-2, 6-1. Jaden Payne and Jake Hoover won their match over Ezra Yoquelet and Jordan Wolf 6-0, 6-0.
The match did not feature any JV matches.
The Knights will travel to East Noble at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept 15.
Norwell girls’ soccer beats Eastbrook
The Norwell girls’ soccer team won its Tuesday night match against Eastbrook 3-1. The win now evens the Knights’ record at 5-5 on the season.
Grace Mann continues to put the ball at the back of the net, scoring two more goals, both being in the second half. Addy Archbold added the third goal for the Knights in their victory.
The next match for the Knights will be at South Adams for varsity only at 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept 15.
Norwell volleyball sweeps Marion
The Norwell volleyball team won its match in three sets over Marion Tuesday night, improving its record to 9-8.
The scores were 25-10, 25-16, and 25-10.
The Lady Knights will have a conference match against Leo at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept 15.
Woodlan tops Bluffton in volleyball match
The Lady Tigers were defeated by the Warriors of Woodlan Tuesday evening at Bluffton 3-1. The scores were 25-15, 22-25, 25-17, and 25-7.
The stat leaders for the Tigers were Riley Couch with 15 digs, Emma Baumgartner with 17 assists and one block, Lauren Reiff with 1 block, Maryn Schreiber with eight kills and one block, and Isabella Stout with three aces.
The JV team also dropped its match in two sets, 25-15 and 25-18.
The stat leaders for the JV team were Konley Ault with one ace and eight digs, Jillian Philliipe with one ace, Lexi Grady with six assists, and Haddie Yergler with one block and eight digs.
The Tigers will make the trip to Southern Wells in ACAC action at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept 15, starting with the JV.
