Tuesday, 7:10 p.m., First Bank of Berne, 404 N. Main St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. Alarm accidentally tripped by the bank’s cleaning crew.

Tuesday, 8:43 p.m. Lancaster Senior Villas, 1800 S. Wayne St. Loud verbal altercation between a man and a woman. Officers responded. Situation calmed. Both parties warned for disorderly conduct. The woman decided to take the man to Fort Wayne. On the way he allegedly threatened to stab himself and that prompted a call to police to respond to the Murphy Oil USA station, 2140 N. Main St. at 9:21 p.m. An officer then transported the man to Fort Wayne.

Tuesday, 8:59 p.m., residence in the 1000 block of West Central Avenue. Report of a loud altercation. Officers responded. Situation calmed.

Wednesday, 11:11 a.m., Praxis substance abuse treatment facility, 1529 W. Lancaster St. Officers requested to remove an unwanted man from the facility. The man left.

Wednesday, 11:55 a.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. Woman detained for shoplifting.

Tuesday, 5:20 p.m., rural Ossian caller reported a relative obtained a credit card fraudulently by stealing the identification of the caller’s infant son.

Wednesday, 12:51 a.m., Silo Farms mobile home park, 11080N-Ind. 1. While investigating a report of several juveniles walking toward the pond of the mobile home park and smelling of marijuana, a sheriff’s deputy saw a vehicle turning out of the mobile home park that had only one operable headlight. He pulled it over near Ind. 1 and detained the adult male driver and two teenage male passengers. The deputy noted in his report that the interior of the vehicle smelled of marijuana and the driver reportedly admitted marijuana had been in the vehicle in the past. A search of the vehicle by deputies reportedly turned up a vaping pen with a THC cartridge in the pen purchased legally from a Michigan marijuana store but brought illegally into Indiana. A warrant was sought for the arrest of the driver and the two juveniles were turned over to the custody of their parents.

FIRE RUNS

Tuesday, 6:31 p.m., Bluffton Regional Medical Center, 303 S. Main St. Woman pinched in the basement door at the bottom of a stairwell. Bluffton Fire Rescue dispatched. Patient was removed at 6:37 p.m. and taken to the emergency room of the hospital.

ARRESTS

Robert DeWayne Connett, 47, Bluffton; probation violation. No bond set.
