Bluffton’s city leaders spent about six months wanting repairs to or demolition of two buildings in the 900 block of West Lancaster Street, and the two houses — with addresses of 827 and 901 — were finally taken down within the past few weeks. Empty lots now mark the site where the two buildings stood. The houses came to the city’s Board of Public Works and Safety in March and then again in May and were put under a “repair or demolish” order at that time. When no action was taken, the board hired contractors to take the buildings down. (Top photo is a News-Banner file photos; bottom photo by Dave Schultz)
