Hot weather did not discourage the community from showing up to support the 4-H auction in droves on Thursday.

Preliminary totals show $126,225 total bids, with an additional $22,549 donated on top. In total, the event garnered $148,774.

Of this amount, $13,450 was sold during the premiere auction and $125,924 sold at the livestock auction and $9,400 was raised for the 4-H Foundation. There were 240 total lots.

The most expensive lot of the night was Trey Slusher’s market gilt pig — it weighed in at 253 lbs. and sold for $3,000. It was purchased by Ceres Solutions, Montpelier Ag, Red Line Equipment and Ben Burman State Farm.
