Norman “Butch” and Joyce Bauermeister of Ossian recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married June 2, 1962, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church near Ossian; they were introduced by mutual friends.
They have lived in rural Ossian (Jefferson Township) area for 60 years where they continue to operate the family farm. Butch is now retired from his home construction business, Bauermeister Builders.
The couple has two daughters, Brenda Stephens of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Jodi Harwood of Fort Wayne. Their four grandchildren live in Oklahoma City, Kalamazoo, Bellport, N.Y., and Chicago.
The family gathered in South Carolina in April for an anniversary celebration.
