Last night was a great night at our Kehoe Concert season opener with Last Child, the Aerosmith Experience. Our next concert is this Sunday, June 26, with the annual Community Worship Celebration concert from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Kehoe Park. The Grand Sweet Shop will be selling treats, so bring a few dollars if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Special thanks to National Oil and Gas for sponsoring this evening of entertainment.

The days have been hot, so we thought it would be fun to do an evening event called Light up the Night Bike Ride. Strap some lights to your bike, skates, scooters, strollers, wheelchairs, or other rolling transportation devices, and join us at 9 p.m. Thursday, June 30 for a leisurely nighttime ride along the Wabash River.

Prizes will be awarded for the best light display. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The ride starts at Pickett’s Run Park in the 400 block of East Washington Street at 9:15 p.m.

Kids ages 6 and older are invited to try our first-ever Magical Park Experience from July 1 through July 31 at Lions Park.  Look for the QR code on the fliers at the park, then download the game on your smart device to see fantastical creatures moving in the park while you play various games.

The Parks Department will be on hand at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 7, for a Magical Park Scavenger Hunt at Wilson Field in Lions Park to help get you started.

Celebrate the Fourth of July with the city of Bluffton. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m.

If you decide to view the fireworks from the Bluffton Middle school grounds, remember that the school is smoke-, drug-, and alcohol-free. No fireworks are allowed on their property, including sparklers.  Also, please carry out any trash that you may bring with you. (The rain date for fireworks is July 5, if needed).

As a reminder, personal fireworks are not allowed in any city park.

We usually start getting phone calls each year about when fireworks are allowed to be used, so I thought I would share the City Code.
