Local author Lyla Spath will be at the Markle Branch Library at 6 p.m. June 6 for a visit and reading from her recent work “Salamonie Summer,” a children’s historical novel centered on the controversial construction of Salamonie Reservoir in the summer of 1966.

She will talk with aspiring young writers about her craft. School-aged visitors are welcome to ask questions and talk about their own writing and writing goals.

Spath’s book, which features illustrations, interactive activities, a glossary and historical timeline, is available for checkout at the library.
