Friday, 5:30 p.m., police received a report that two intoxicated people — a man and a woman — had just left the Airplane Express station walking southbound on Main Street. Two officers stopped in the parking lot of Hardee’s restaurant and started walking north toward the Main Street bridge. Both saw the two people approaching from the north walking south. The man and the woman abruptly crossed Main Street in traffic, causing a vehicle to slam on its brakes. The officers then got back into their patrol vehicle and crossed over to the west side of Main Street and parked just south of the bridge. The male reportedly started to cross back across Main Street but then half lay down in the roadway, bringing traffic to a complete stop.
