The Norwell Lady Knights fell 11-1 at Huntington North in Wednesday’s softball matchup.
Norwell (10-7) trailed 6-0 after three innings before finally scoring its first and only run in the fourth.
The Vikings heated up in the fifth inning with five runs to end the game early by the 10-run rule.
Norwell managed just three hits at the plate. Allyson Burtron hit a triple, and Delaney Connett and Hannah Troyer each hit singles.
Norwell was also not its sharpest defensively as it committed five errors while Huntington North committed none.
Madyson Sonnigsen and Brielle Nunley each pitched 2 1/3 innings for Norwell on the mound. Nunley allowed five unearned runs on six hits while walking one. Sonnigsen allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits to go with three walks.
Norwell will take the field again on Friday at Northrop.
