Tuesday, 7:03 p.m., residence in the 400 block of Cedar Road, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Report of two teens had been fighting earlier now were arguing. Officers dispatched. Situation calmed. Information taken for a report.
Wednesday, 9:18 a.m., Main Street south of Spring Street. Large sinkhole developing in the southbound lane. Bluffton Wastewater crew called to the scene.

Tuesday, 3:35 p.m., Skyline Village apartments. Deputy responded to a report that a small dog had been attacked by two pitbull dogs. The deputy spoke first with the owner of the small dog who said it was one of the residents of the apartment complex whose dogs had attacked hers and pointed the deputy to the apartment where the man lived. The deputy spoke with the man who allegedly identified himself as Doug A. Phillips, 35. He told the sheriff’s deputy he didn’t have any identification with him. Using the name and date of birth supplied, the deputy tried to perform a warrants check on Phillips, but discovered that the name with the date of birth supplied by Phillips was not on file. The deputy would reportedly later discover that the man who identified himself as Doug A. Phillips, was actually Joshua Allen Roe, 37, of that address. Roe had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for violating probation. He was then arrested on that warrant and for identity deception, a Level 6 felony. Bond was set at $5,000 on the felony charge. No bond was set for the probation violation.
Tuesday, 5:15 p.m., residence on North Oak Street Extended. Semi drove through the front yard of the residence leaving ruts and ran over a small apple tree.

Tuesday, 4:32 p.m., Main Street north of Dustman Road. Angi A. Dahma, 24, Warren, was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox sport utility vehicle northbound on Main Street in the inside northbound lane. Angie G. Norris, 43, rural Markle, was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300C in the outside northbound lane. A sensor light came on in Dahma’s vehicle and she decided to pull off the road. In so doing, she merged into the adjacent lane and her Equinox collided in a same-direction sideswipe style crash with Norris’ Chrysler. Damage exceeded $2,500.

Tuesday, 4:30 a.m., 100W near 1100N. Curtis L. Hapner, 47, rural Uniondale, hit a deer with his 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. Damage to the pickup truck exceeded $5,000.
Tuesday, 11:49 p.m., I-69 on the short stretch in Wells County. Huntington County Deputy Sheriff David R. McEvoy, 53, Roanoke, was assisting a motorist on the left shoulder of the interstate. He was out of his 2020 Dodge Durango police vehicle when it was sideswiped by a northbound 2020 Ram Promaster City delivery van driven by Douglas P. Everett, 63, Fort Wayne and registered to Crossroads Courier Inc., Fort Wayne. Everett told the investigating deputy that he was trying to make room for a semi that was drifting into his lane from the adjacent lane when the accident happened. Damage exceeded $5,000.
Wednesday, 6:31 a.m., Marzane Road near 1100N. Jeffrey R. Ness, 60, rural Huntington, hit a deer with his 2011 Nissan Armada. Damage to the sport utility vehicle exceeded $2,500.

Tuesday, 10:52 p.m., Ossian Health & Rehabilitation, 215 Davis Rd. Smell of natural gas coming from the furnace room of the facility. Ossian Fire Department dispatched. Northern Indiana Public Service Company contacted to turn off the gas.
