Two seek GOP Primary bid for Wells County Council seat
Brian Lambert to draw on his hometown connection and business ownership
Why have you decided to run for office?
I love living in Wells County and I want to do what I can to keep it awesome.
What do you believe your qualifications are for the job?
My wife and I were both born and raised in Wells County and we currently own a business here, I’m a sixth generation farmer from the Rockcreek Township. And we have three kids that attend the Bluffton community schools. I love and care about this community and county.
If elected, what do you hope to accomplish while in office? What do you consider your priorities?
I hope to stick up for farmers and land owners in this district. Give them a choice that they can trust in a leadership position.
My priorities are government overreach, government accountability and transparency, and fiscal responsibility.
Mike Mossburg has previous experience on the council as president
Why have you decided to run again for office?
I enjoyed serving the needs of our community as an eight-year member of the Wells County Council. It’s important that the citizens living in the southern half of Wells County have a strong voice representing them on the key issues facing our county. As the owner of a small business and as a farmer, I am fully aware of the challenges each deal with on a daily basis.
What do you believe your qualifications are for the job?
Thanks to my prior service on the Wells County Council, I have a clear understanding of the inner workings of both our county’s finances and fiscal position. It was my privilege to serve both as vice president and president of the board during my terms.
If elected, what do you hope to accomplish while in office? What do you consider your priorities?
My goals if elected are:
1.) Improve working conditions and move the county’s highway garage project forward.
2.) Focus on long-range planning for future county capital projects to avoid large property tax increases.
3.) Continue accelerating access to grant funding for local infrastructure improvements.
4.) Push for all taxing units of the county to work together with county council on strategic priorities.
5.) Continue to push for the four-lane improvements to Ind. 1 north of Bluffton to I-469.
6.) Maintain a financially healthy and strong fiscal position for Wells County.
I respectfully ask for your support to help bring these goals into existence.
