As part of a plea agreement, a second count of battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old, also a Level 6 felony, was dismissed.

Briana Mercedes Ann Wright, 28, Marion, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and failure to appear in court, both Level 6
felonies.
Sentenced to 547 days in prison, with all but 136 days suspended — credited as time served, and placed on probation for a total of 958 days. A special condition was placed on the term of the probation by the court and her probation may terminate early if she meets the
requirements of that court imposed condition.
She was ordered to pay court costs and probation fees. As part of a plea agreement, charges of possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class
C misdemeanor, were dismissed.
Wright was asleep in a vehicle parked on the Troxel Tri Green Equipment parking lot Feb. 25, 2021, when a concerned employee for
TTG contacted the sheriff’s department. The employee reported that the male driver was also asleep and only reacted briefly when the employee knocked on the window of the vehicle.
Wright reportedly did not respond at all.
Upon arrival, a sheriff’s deputy found that the parked vehicle was running and the driver’s side window was open a crack. The deputy reported noticing the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The deputy noted that the man seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle appeared to be impaired. The deputy asked the driver to awaken Wright but he was unable to.
Fearing that Wright might be suffering from an overdose of an illegal substance, Wells County EMS was summoned to the scene.
A second deputy managed to get Wright to awaken, but she allegedly
appeared to be under the influence of an illegal substance.
Reportedly a small bag containing a white powder that field tested positive for methamphetamine was found near where Wright was sitting. A small glass pipe inside a glasses case was reportedly at her feet.
Inside a makeup bag, the deputy allegedly found a glass smoking pipe containing a substance that appeared to be marijuana wax.
The deputy also allegedly found a small container on the floor that contained a small plastic bag with a green leafy substance that had the appearance and odor of marijuana.
Wright was scheduled to appear in Wells Superior Court Dec. 10, 2021, for a change of plea hearing but she failed to show.
