A triathlon will again be hosted partially on county roads in June.

The county commissioners approved County Engineer Nate Rumschlag’s recommendation this month to allow Zach Ruble, organizer of the Ouabache Triathlon, to use 100S, 700E and Church Road for the bike portion of the competition. The race is June 11 beginning at 8 a.m.

In information provided to the commissioners, Ruble expects the racers — between 150 to 200 of them — to be done by 11 a.m. No roads will need to be closed but the sheriff’s department will help stop traffic as needed at intersections.

Because there are no aid stations on the route, there won’t be litter to worry about on the county roads, Ruble added.
