The IHSAA boys’ state basketball tournament is now set after Sunday’s sectional draw. 

All three Wells County schools will host a sectional tournament this season. 

Bluffton (3-18) will host Class 2A Sectional 36 and take on Canterbury (7-13) in its first matchup. The winner of that matchup would take on the winner of a matchup between Wabash (13-7) and Adams Central (12-7). 

Bluffton’s last sectional championship came back in 2019. Blackhawk Christian is the defending champion and won the 2A state championship last season.

On the other side of the bracket, South Adams (5-15) faces Whitko (8-12). The winner of that game will meet the winner of a game between Manchester (8-12) and Blackhawk Christian (16-4). 

Norwell (19-3) will host Class 3A Sectional 23 and take on Heritage (4-16) in its first game. The winner will face Eastern Greentown (8-10), which drew a bye, in the semifinal. 

On the other side, Oak Hill (16-4) drew a bye and will face the winner of a matchup between Bellmont (11-9) and Mississinewa (8-12).

Norwell won its last sectional championship back in 2020. Mississinewa is the defending champion and defeated Norwell in the championship game last season.

Southern Wells (4-15) will host Class 1A Sectional 53 and has a bye in the first round. It will be met in the semifinals by the winner of a matchup between Smith Academy (5-15) and Lakeland Christian (12-8). 

North Miami (7-12) drew the other first round by and will take on the winner of a game between Northfield (4-16) and Southwood (10-10). 

Southern Wells’ was last crowned a sectional champion back in 2019. Southwood won the championship last season and made a run all the way to semi-state afterward.
