Several children recently completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program at the Wells County Public Library by reading and listening to 1,000 books with the help of family members.
Aaron Smith (shown holding his prize book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”) is pictured with his brother Isaac, his mom Tonya, and his sister Rayne.
Piper and Finnick Grandlinard both completed the program. They are pictured with their parents William and Nicole. Finnick chose “The Big Bug Search” as his prize book, while Piper chose “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.”
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is sponsored by the United Way of Wells County, the Wells County Foundation, and the Friends of the Library. The program not only helps prepare children for school, but instills the value of reading and life-long learning.
