Sharon C. Miller, 80, of Lima, Ohio, and formerly of Bluffton, passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 6, 2022, at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima.

Sharon was born in Gary on Sept. 22, 1941, to John and Sarah (Roemer) Ryan. She married Wayne E. “Bud” Miller in Highland, Ind., on Aug. 1, 1981. Bud preceded her in death on Apr. 2, 2019.

A 1959 graduate of Calumet High School, Sharon worked as a caregiver for many years, and also managed Meals on Wheels sites in Bluffton and Angola. She was always known for her friendly and welcoming personality while serving as a cashier at different local grocery stores in Bluffton.

Not only did Sharon work as a caregiver, but she also took care of her own mother for many years. She had a true love for flowers and animals. She will be remembered as a devout Catholic who had a big heart and loved to serve others.

Sharon is survived by three daughters, Judy (Roger) Rhodes of Lima, Susan (Don) Wihebrink of Warsaw, and Teresa (Chris) Krex of Elizabethtown, Ky.; a son, Bruce (Mary Alice) Miller of Liberty Center; a close family friend who was like a daughter to Sharon, Beth Zarndt of Griffth; two sisters, Kathy (Danny) Burns and Rita Berndt; a brother, Jerry (Jan) Ryan; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and her faithful dog, Robert Montgomery “Bobby” Knight.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Pagin and Kevin Miller; an infant daughter, Cindy; a brother, Jack Ryan; and two sisters, Donna Robbins and Jeanie Butkiewicz.

Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, from noon until 2 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bluffton, followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Fr. David Violi will officiate. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
