LaLonnie L. Clanin Hacha passed away peacefully at home Dec. 30, 2021, at the of 84. She was born in Bluffton on July 11, 1937. 

Lonnie was a 1955 P.A. Allen Bluffton High School graduate. She worked at Indiana Bell Telephone Co. as a switchboard operator where she met her spouse, John.

 She also worked at the Caylor Nickel Clinic in telecommunications. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bluffton. Lonnie and John were married Aug. 10, 1957. They were married for 64 years and Lonnie described John as the love of her life. Lonnie loved being a mother and homemaker. She also enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always made sure her grandkids were met with a hug and snacks when they came to visit.

She enjoyed going to casinos, playing bingo, and scratch-off tickets. Lonnie was an avid shopper who enjoyed finding the best bargains. She was also a collector of cookie jars.

 She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, John W. Hacha, and is lovingly remembered by her sons, Tim (Ruth) Hacha, Terry (Kelli) Hacha, and Greg (Kelly) Hacha; daughters, Julie Hacha and Holly Hacha; grandchildren, LeeAnn (Keith) Bowers, Eric (Rachel) Schisler, Katie Hacha, Andy (Kailey) Hacha, Allie Hacha, Corey (Brice) Vinson-Schisler, Jake Mechling, Rachel (Bryce) Smith, Miranda (John) Mills, Brandon Hacha, Megan Hacha, Lauren Hacha, Emily Scott and Maddy Scott; great-grandchildren, Cameron Bowers, Addison Bowers, Jackson Bowers, Luke Hacha, Alex Schisler, Marshall Mills, and Leah Mills; a sister, Joyce Clanin; and a sister-in-law, Joan Hacha.

 She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Russell and Mary Brown Clanin; brothers, Gene Clanin, William Clanin, Charles Clanin and Benjamin Clanin; and her sisters, Deloris Cutler, Virgie Kilgore, Judith Clanin, Mary Wolfe, Mildred Grimm, Nancy Bailey, Helen Adams, and Janet Pinkerton.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. in Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. 

Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, also at the funeral home.

 Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Riley’s Children’s Hospital.
