Monday, 4:05 p.m., 600 block of West Cherry Street, cell phone was found and collected.
Monday, 6:44 p.m., 800 block of West Market Street, caller requested assistance with a possible trespassing on property.
Monday, 7:08 p.m., 400 block of South Baldwin Street, caller reported neighbors dog attacking the caller’s dog.
Monday. 8:51 p.m., corner of West Market and North Union streets, firework noises reported. Officers unable to pinpoint source.
Monday, 11:00 p.m., 400 block of West Washing Street, loud noise reported. Officers did not hear music.
Tuesday, 12:38 a.m., 1800 block of South Wayne Street, caller reported hearing a scream from nearby apartment. Resident claimed it was a happy scream. Officer advised to lower noise.
Tuesday, 8:02 a.m., corner of East Washington and South Main streets, report of a person flashing a gun in a pickup truck multiple hours prior.
Tuesday, 9:12 a.m., McDonald’s, report of a person sending threatening message on Facebook.
Tuesday, 10:05 a.m., Kehoe Park, cell phone found in the pavillion.
Tuesday. 11:30 a.m., Bluffton Harrison Middle School, officer received report about possible theft.

Friday, 5:19 p.m., North Ind. 1 and East 800N. Railroad arm bent.
Friday, 10:28 p.m., residence on North Marzane Road. Caller reported gunfire in the area within the last 10 minutes. Unable to locate.
Saturday, 10:40 a.m., residence on 500E, Bluffton. Deputy followed-up on noise complaints regarding a residence’s barking coon dogs. This was the second visit, and improvements had been noted. The deputy advised the complainant that the dog owner is trying to improve the situation.
Saturday, 3:59 p.m., residence on Ind. 218, Poneto. Caller reported a man with no shirt walking around the property. The man said he was hoping to get some water. Deputy observed the man seemed high, and advised the man to return home. The man declined speaking with EMS.
Saturday, 4:04 p.m., East Logan and North Clark streets, Markle. Driver observed speeding excessively and crossing the center line. The driver advised he was running late to pick up his son for a job interview.
Saturday, 5:26 p.m., East Monroe Street and Commerce Drive, Bluffton. Assisted Bluffton Police Department with a report of a suspicious male with a rifle. Unable to locate.
Saturday, 6:32 p.m., residence on Ind. 218, Poneto. Man reportedly walking around property, possibly took a hammer out of the barn. The property owner stated the man had been at the residence earlier, and he had been apparently living in the upstairs of his barn. The deputy advised to call if the man returned.
Saturday, 6:59 p.m., residence on north Main Street, Craigville. Two men engaged in a verbal altercation. The men had been fighting over an incident between their children. Witnesses stated the two had been nose to nose for approximately 10 minutes. Both men were warned for trespassing on one another’s properties.
Saturday, 9:36 p.m., east 700S and South Meridian Road. Report of a man walking northbound with a cast on his leg. Unable to locate.
Sunday, 6:03 a.m., 2548N 100W, rural Bluffton. Parked vehicle creating possible driving hazard. Owner contacted and the vehicle was moved.
Sunday, 11:38 a.m., north 100W and northwest Ind. 116. Vehicle parked in the turn lane. Driver advised the vehicle is overheating.
Monday, 12:32 a.m., north Ind. 1 and east 800N. Traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 75 in a 55 mph zone. The vehicle smelled heavily of marijuana and driver Angela Marie Soto, 19, Fort Wayne, appeared to have red and bloodshot eyes. K9 unit deployed. A rolled blunt, gun, a mason jar of green plant material, glass pipe, and marijuana vape were found in the car. Soto’s boyfriend, who was on the phone, stated the gun belonged to him. Soto failed field sobriety tests, and was administered a Portable Breath Test and SoToxa Oral Fluid Test. The breath test returned at zero percent and SoToxa tests were positive for marijuana. Soto then admitted to smoking marijuana while driving. Soto was arrested for operating while intoxicated endangerment, a Class A misdemeanor, possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, operating while intoxicated under a controlled substance, a Class C misdemeanor, possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle without every receiving a license, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $3,500.
Monday, 3:05 p.m., 100E and 900N. Citation issued for 65 in a 45 mph zone.
Monday, 3:09 p.m., 100W and 1100N, Markle. Deer accident. Driver did not want to file an accident report but worried for the deer that was still alive in the ditch.
Monday, 4:17 p.m., residence on West Woodview Drive, Zanesville. Utility trailer reported stolen. The caller’s son found it in Allen County.
Monday, 7:28 p.m., south 500E and east 1150S. Report of an ATV driving on the roadway. Deputy located the juvenile driver and advised to stay off the roadway.
Tuesday, 7:10 a.m., east Market Street and north Main Street, Bluffton. Traffic stop. Driver had expired registration and the driver’s license was suspended. Morgan Scott Banks, 18, Bluffton, was arrested for driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor. Booked and released. Banks was also cited for expired vehicle registration.

Friday, 12:21 p.m., 4126E 800N. Three individuals pulling up a trailer with machinery.
Friday, 4:48 p.m., West Ind. 124 and North 100W. Trailer dragging on box truck.
Saturday, 12:19 a.m., Silo Farms. Report of man and woman physically fighting in the street. One detained and transported to the Wells County Jail.
Saturday, 8:57 p.m., residence on Bittersweet Lane. Physical domestic altercation between a father and his adult child. The man’s adult children advised he was intoxicated, and had instigated the altercation. The adult child had several marks from the altercation, but did not want to press charges. The children and spouse packed their bags and left the location.
ACCIDENTS

Friday, 10:53 p.m., 10557N Ind. 1, Ossian. Joel W. Owen, 35, Jamestown, Tenn., was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV southbound on Ind. 1 and fell asleep. The vehicle left the roadway and entered the front yard of 10560N Ind. 1 in Ossian, then turned eastbound and went back across the roadway and made contact with a tree at 10557N Ind. 1 in Ossian. The vehicle was towed by Freeman’s. Damage exceeded $25,000.
Saturday, 8:41 p.m., Rose Road at the intersection of CR 100E, Murray. A juvenile from Bluffton, was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger northwest on Rose Road when he lost control of the vehicle and tried to correct the direction of travel, leaving the roadway traveling northwest and hitting a drainage embankment. Damage exceeded $10,000.
Monday, 7:45 a.m., 2023E U.S. 224, Ossian. Devon A. Legg, 19, Upland, was driving a 2016 Buick LaCrosse eastbound on U.S. 224 when a deer entered the roadway and he was unable to avoid collision. Damage exceeded $2,500.
Tuesday, 5:20 p.m., North 300W at the intersection of W 700N, Rockford. Mariah L. Captain, 30, Fort Wayne, was driving a 2020 Jeep Wrangler and attempted to pass a 2017 Honda Accord driven by Seth A. Kissinger, 28, Columbia City. In doing so, another vehicle turned south on 300W and Captain merged back into the northbound lane to avoid collision with the vehicle. While merging, the rear tire of Captain’s vehicle collided with the front driver’s side panel of Kissinger’s vehicle. Damage exceeded $10,000.
FIRES
Monday, 2:58 p.m., corner of 300 West and 900 North, report of a ditch fire. Fire under control approximately 13 minutes after call.
ARRESTS
Marcus Kristofer Bishop, 31, Portage; battery, a Level 6 felony, domestic battery causing moderate body injury, a Level 6 felony, strangulation, a Level 6 felony, criminal mischief, a Level 6 felony, resisting law enforcement, a Level 6 felony, and disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor. Bond set at $10,000.
Troy Jacob Shake, 38, Bluffton; domestic battery with prior unrelated convictions, a Class A misdemeanor, and resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $5,000.
David Lee Cruz, 19, Bluffton; pickpocketing, a Class A misdemeanor, and unlawful carrying of a gun. Bond set at $3,000.
Case James Michael Smith, 22, Bluffton; operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $500.
Walter Jacob Moore, 57, Fort Wayne; six counts of probation violation, Level 6 felonies. No bond set.
