Wednesday, 5:16 p.m., apartment in the 500 block of West Market Street. Officers assisted the Wells County Probation Department in the search of a probationer’s apartment. Reportedly a small amount of marijuana was found.

Wednesday, 12:45 p.m., Washington Street at 350N. Report of a boulder in the roadway.
Wednesday, 2:26 p.m., Silo Farms mobile home park. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a verbal altercation between a husband and wife. Situation calmed, parties separated.
Wednesday, 4:02 p.m., 400W between 500N and U.S. 24. Tree blown down onto power lines. Heartland REMC contacted.
Wednesday, 9:29 p.m., 400W north of Ind. 124. Caller reported a suspicious pickup truck parked along the road. Sheriff’s deputy responded and discovered that the truck belonged to a coyote hunter.
Thursday, 4:37 a.m., 100E at 100N. Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a vehicle for not having visible taillights and arrested the driver, Nico Lapree Baker, 34, Fort Wayne, on one count of operating a motor vehicle while never having been issued a driver’s license, a Class C misdemeanor and no or improper license plate lights and/or taillights, a Class C infraction. Baker was released on his own recognizance.
ACCIDENTS

Thursday, 8:59 a.m., Bluffton Regional Medical Center parking lot, 303 S. Main St. Judy M. Kendrick, 73, Geneva, pulled into a parking space in her 2010 Ford Fusion and clipped an adjacent parked 2008 Dodge Dakota registered to Lester L. McIntyre, Decatur. The Fusion then continued forward, ran over a sign, continued through some landscaping mulch, circled back around and drove back into the parking lot. Kendrick reported that she stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake. Damage was estimated at less than $1,000.
FIRES
Wednesday, 2:34 p.m., 2740E-200N. Grass fire in the ditch and in a field of cover crop owned by Lawrence T. Purcell. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched and requested grass rigs from Ossian and Preble fire departments. Preble was later advised to disregard. About an acre of grass burned.
Wednesday, 8:36 p.m., Main Street and Arrowhead Trail. Construction crew hit a 3-inch gas line and natural gas spraying out onto the road. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched and southbound lanes to the road were closed. Crew from Northern Indiana Public Service Company was called out to repair the line.

Rachael Ann Irwin, 33, Bluffton; probation violation.
Terry Smith Jr., 35, Bluffton; failure to appear in court. No bond set.
