2023 will mark the 10th year that the Friends Who Care Cancer Relief Foundation will sponsor a gospel concert and auction at the Wells County Community Center at the 4-H Park in Bluffton. The upcoming event will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, with the doors opening at 4 p.m.
There is no admission fee.
Lead sponsor of the the Friends Who Care Cancer Relief Foundation, formerly known as the Steve Kelly Cancer Relief Foundation, will be Outdoor Concepts of Bluffton. Those wishing to donate items for the silent and live auction may contact Outdoor Concepts at 824-5189, Family Ford of Bluffton at 824-2300, or NAPA Auto Parts at 824-4460.
All of the money raised stays in Wells County to assist anyone with cancer to meet any need including gas, groceries, wigs, a haircut or any other expense they incur that insurance might not cover.
Concessions will be available after 4 p.m. from Uncle Matt’s BBQ with choices including pulled pork, chicken sliders, wings, cole slaw, baked beans and more — all for a free will donation.
Silent auction items will be on display for bids and a live auction will be conducted half way through the evening.
Eight local singing groups will offer entertainment beginning at 5:30 p.m. and include Tab Beechler, the Psalm 100 Quartet, Drew and Megan Davis with Ross Kilgore, William Fiechter, Sarah Collins Ministry, and Faithful Friends.
Current board members assisting with the event include Jeff Adams, Jean Bordner, Cheryl Buckland, Brandie Colton, Steve Esterhai, Cindy Gordon, Bruce Stinson and Skip Edwards.
Levels of sponsorships include Official Sponsor, $1,000; Gold Level, $500; and Silver Level, $250.
