Brenda S. Sills Castillo, 69, of Hartford City, died at 4:17 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at the IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
She was born May 13, 1952, in Blackford County. She married Joe Castillo Oct. 26, 1974, in Montpelier. Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include her five daughters, Lucrethia Altman of Montpelier, Clysta Castillo of Fortville, Stathia (Eric) Lineback of Logansport, Chasta (Jasen) Pfefferkorn of Hamilton, and Alethia (Derrick) Boyd of Hartford City; two brothers, Jerry (Joyce) Sills of LaFontaine, Ind., and Joe (Karen) Sills of Montpelier; and eight grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Burl Bert “Pappy” Sills; her mother, Lucrethia Beatrice Gilbert Sills; five brothers, Verlin Sills, Floyd Sills, Burls J. Sills, Gilbert Sills, and Larry D. Sills; and a sister, Clysta Norton.
Calling will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St. in Montpelier. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, immediately following calling, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Montpelier.
