Broadway star Shoshana Bean will be the featured performer for the Embassy Theatre’s 2021 Marquee Gala, which will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, April 30.

The gala is a fundraiser for the theatre. The event has been modified to avoid exposure during the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Embassy also modified the activities of the evening to minimize catering and to allow for proper ingress/egress, timed entry and exiting strategies and utilize social distancing among other protocols to space guests out in the auditorium. The theater also opened it up more broadly to the community by offering a$150 ticket as well as a virtual option. Normally, the price is $250 per ticket.

Bean made her Broadway debut in the original cast of “Hairspray,” starring as the very first replacement for Elphaba in “Wicked,” and most recently portrayed Jenna in “Waitress.” She won a IRNE Award for her performance as Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl” and earned a Jeff Award nomination for her portrayal of CeeCee Bloom in the pre-Broadway production of “Beaches.”
