Jerry E Fusselman, 77, of Bluffton passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Jerry worked at International Harvester/Navistar in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis for 37 years, retiring Oct. 1, 2000. He also worked for Grace Insulation and Remodeling in Greenfield for nearly 20 years.
Jerry was a member of Warren Church of Christ and sang in church choirs for many years as well as did church maintenance for several years. He liked to go fishing, hunting, shooting and camping. He enjoyed carpentry, throwing tomahawks and making them. He loved telling jokes, “tall tales,” and being funny. Jerry loved his wife Shirley more and more every day!
He was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Huntington County, the son of Harold Fusselman and Helen Smith Fusselman.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Shirley Stults, on Oct. 13, 1962, at the Markle Church of Christ. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Marty Fusselman of Bluffton; two daughters, Cheri (Barry) Young of Bluffton and Amy (Michael Sr.) Hoerger of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Charlotte Longo of Bluffton and Betty (Charlie) Bennett of Liberty Center; and 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen, and a sister, Dollie Carter.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St. in Markle. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, with one hour of visitation prior to the service, at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel.
Interment will take place at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
