Kendall Smith

What grade are you in?
I am going into 10th grade at Norwell high School.

Do you like your name? If you could change it what would it be?
Yeah. Probably my middle name, Elizabeth. Just so that I could have more nicknames, I guess, Because I don’t really have good nicknames with my name.

What is the funniest thing that happened to you this week?
My mom told me a story. Her and my sister were going to the college she is going to this year. On the side of the road apparently there was a truck carrying pigs and they had started falling out. So there were pigs all on the side of the road just eating grass. I thought that was a funny story.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you choose to go an why?Paris. I’ve always thought it was pretty. I’ve always wanted to learn a new language and I think French is just a beautiful language.

Tell me something about a parent or relative that you find awesome and you hope to accomplish someday.
My dad was in the military for 4 years and I think I want to go into the military and make a difference. He was in the Army.

What are you proudest of?
Probably just my family. We all get good grades and we all try really hard in school.

How do you feel about out of the normal hair color and which one do you think you would try if you had to?
I like just natural colored hair. I don’t really like the crazy like blues and pinks. I guess I’d die my hair like a lighter brown. If I had to choose a whimsical color probably a purplish grey.

Do you own a pet? Tell us his/he breed, name and something funny he/she does.
Yes, lots of pets. I have a dog. He’s a miniature Australian Shepherd and his name is Bo. We have a Calico cat and her name is Bella. We had these little baby raccoons that we were nursing and they just left. Their names were Rusty and Bear. I think it’s adorable when the raccoons act like humans. They pick stuff up with their hands and they eat kind of like a little squirrel. We have a lot of chickens, but we don’t name those.

Can you tell me a joke?
I went to Sweetwater this weekend and they gave me a little bag of candy. I think I remember what was on a Laffy Taffy thing. What does a math book say to a pencil? I got a lot of problems.

What is your favorite class in school and why?
I like math just because it’s so organized and its not like crazy. I find biology kind of interesting. Probably both of those.

Are you involved in school sports, music or other activities? Any outside of school activities?
I play piano outside of school. In school I play soccer. I’ve been playing soccer since middle school.

If you could start an extra-curricular club at school what would it be?
I think we pretty much have everything. Maybe a French club.

Who is one of your friends that makes you laugh all the time?

Who is your most academically inclined friend?
Either Lanie or Sydney. They’re both into honors classes and stuff.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years.
Hopefully with a good job. I want to be a psychiatrist so hopefully I have my own practice and everything. Maybe starting a family. I haven’t decided if I want to go into the military part-time and go to school or if I want to take a couple years off of school and go into the military and then come back and get my degree.

How will you get there?
Save up a lot of money and go to Purdue or a college close in our area. And Just work my butt off to get it done.

It was Awesome to meet you! You sound like you have very successful plans for the future.
