Jo Ann Gilgen, 84, of Bluffton, passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 20, 2018, at Signature Health Care in Bluffton.
She was born May 24, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Carson and Mae Scott Smith. Jo Ann graduated from High School in Webster. She retired from Franklin Electric in Bluffton and attended Sonlight Wesleyan Church in Bluffton.
On Aug. 16, 1953, Jo Ann and Richard K. Gilgen were married. He preceded her in death Sept. 29, 1994.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Gilgen of Bluffton; and a brother, Don Smith of Centerville.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Nick Alan Gilgen in 1973; and a brother, Bob Smith.
A service to celebrate Jo Ann’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home. Rev. Lyle Breeding will officiate. Calling hours will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Six Mile Cemetery in Bluffton. Memorials may be made to the Sonlight Wesleyan Church in Bluffton.
