Carl W. Pease, 77, of Petroleum, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
He was born May 11, 1940, in Wells County, to Howard “Delorn” and Ruth Engle Pease. He married Diane K. Garrett in Bluffton on Aug. 21, 1960; she survives.
A graduate of Petroleum High School in 1958, Carl was a lifelong Wells County farmer. He retired in 2005 from Franklin Electric after 41 years working in the shipping department.
He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and running the combine at harvest time.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rob (Nikki) Pease of Keystone and Mike (Lynn) Pease of North Liberty; two sisters, Martha Okey of Petroleum and Linda (Galen) Meyer of Ellenton, Fla.; six grandchildren, Chris, Brandi, Danica, Tylar, Landon and Ashton; and three great-grandchildren, Madison, Marianne and Carly.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 7, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, with James L. Poling officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Stahl Cemetery in Wells County.
