Phyllis J. Hutker, 85, formerly of Decatur and the mother of a Bluffton woman, died Monday, May 15, 2017, at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton.
Phyllis was born in Decatur on Oct. 4, 1931, to the late William and Mary Burkhead Lough. On March 11, 1950, Phyllis married William H. Hutker; he preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2008.
Phyllis was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the former Eastern Star in Decatur.
She is survived by one son, Alan L. (Ruth) Hutker of Decatur; three daughters, Kathy (Mark) Miller of Bluffton, Connie (Duane) Moser of Decatur, and Lora (Timothy) Bauman of Decatur; one brother, Donald (Loretta) Lough of Bluffton; a half-brother, Dennis (Linda) Norman of Fort Wayne; one sister, Sandy (Brian) Hirschy of Ohio; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson; two great-granddaughters; a brother, John Lough; and a sister, Nancy Lough.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church with calling prior from 9 to 11 a.m. Pastor Chris Gadlage will officiate. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
