Vincent C. Schumacher, 87

Vincent C. Schumacher, 87, of Fort Wayne and a former resident of Ossian, died Sunday, feb. 10, 2013 at Ashton Creek Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne.
Born in Pandora, Ohio on June 26, 1925 to William H. and Mary Malinda (Neuenschwander) Schumacher, he received an engineering degree from Virginia Tech and was a member of First Missionary Church. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and discharged in 1946.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lucille Ewing; four sons, Tom (Gwen) and Joel (Lynn), both of Plymouth, and John (Susie) and Steve Schumacher, both of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Deb (Nick) Tremblin of Swindon, England; and 14 grandchildren.
Calling hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne. Services will be held there at 3 p.m. Saturday.
There will also be a U.S. Army Military Service Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery.
