Phillip Wayne Riley, 86, passed away Nov. 17, 2013, in Naples, Fla.
Evelyn C. Riley, 87, passed away Jan. 19, 2013, also in Naples.
They were married for 59 years.
Phil was born in Tipton County Aug. 11, 1927, to Wayne and Iva Gustin Riley.
A Wells County native, Evelyn was born March 19, 1925 to John E. and Julia L. Wilburn Goroon.
Phil was a 1945 graduate of Liberty Center High School and attended Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Navy and Reserve for eight years. Phil worked for the Kmart Distribution Center in Fort Wayne for 38 years. He enjoyed horses and outdoor activities.
Evelyn was a 1943 graduate of Rockcreek High School and attended Manchester College. Evelyn was a gifted artist and musician.
Phil and Evelyn lived in Wells County until retiring in Florida.
Survivors include their children, Rita Kovach of Bloomington, Robin (Brad) Shake of Naples, Fla.; Rochelle (Ron) Walburn of Bluffton; Ron (Pam) Lenwell of Markle; his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Pat Riley of Siloam Springs, Ark.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to their parents, both were preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Riley; and a grandson, Daniel Walburn. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara (Grant) Habeggar.
A graveside service for the couple will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 13, at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Local arrangements are being handled by Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel.
