Harry Francis Wilson, 85, of Zanesville, passed away Monday Dec. 16, 2013, at St. Vincent’s Seton Hospital in Indianapolis surrounded by members of his family and hospital staff.
Harry was born April 15, 1928, to Francis F and Elsie (Petschke) Wilson in Buffalo, N.Y. Harry married his sweetheart, N. Jeanne Wrightsman, in 1946, and they celebrated 64 years of marriage until her sudden passing in 2011 of a heart attack.
Harry and his late wife had operated Wilson’s Country Store and Auction in Zanesville, Ind., since 1973. Harry received his auctioneer’s license from the State of Indiana in 1973 after attending the Reppert School of Auctioneering. It is estimated that he has conducted more than 1,000 auctions in the state of Indiana during his career. Harry and Jeanne have enjoyed supporting the town of Zanesville and were thankful for their patrons.
In addition to his wife, Harry was preceded in death by a sister, Helen (Wilson) Huston.
He is survived by his four children, Nancy J. Wilson, L.D. Wilson, Cyndi (Wilson) Dorsett, and Dona (Wilson) Gatton; nine grandchildren, William Kolkman, Gayle Smith, Geoffrey Gatton II, William Gatton, Bradley Wilson, Danielle (Wilson) Rubrake, Colin Wilson, Dawn Kolkman, and Andrea Dwyer; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Midwest Funeral Home, 4602 Newaygo Drive in Fort Wayne.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Zanesville Community Church of God.
