Mack F. Stewart, 75, of Bluffton, passed away at 3:46 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Stewart was a retired 42-year employee of Sterling Casting. He had a lifetime of motor repair and drag racing.
“He was a simple man with love for his family.”
He was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Scott County, Va., to John T. Stewart and Bonnie Flanary Stewart. He married Karol Kay Williams Dec. 13, 1958, in Poneto. His wife survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Cary M. (Judy) Stewart and Cory A. Stewart, both of Bluffton; a daughter, Robin K. (Randy) McCorkle of Bluffton; three grandchildren, Chelsie McCorkle, Erin (Jeff) Blair, and Mack (Becca Hinshaw) Stewart; three great-grandchildren, Faith, Easton, and Krista Blair; one step-grandchild, Athena (Les) Bagley; three step-great-grandchildren, Austin, Kyler, and Arissa Bagley; and three sisters, Wanda Necessary of Fort Blackmore, Va., Helen “Toots” Milton of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Fay Carter of Asheville, N.C.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruth Cox, Hattie Osborne, Bridgle Addington, Myrtle Blevins, and Jo Brickey, and a brother, James Stewart.
Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at the Goodwin-Cale and Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. There will be an additional calling at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Stahl Cemetery at Reiffsburg.
